I am a Foodie and I am proud of it.
What is a FOODIE?
A term coined by Paul Levy back in 1981 and by Paul's definition, a foodie seeks new food experiences as a hobby rather than simply eating out for convenience or hunger. While gourmet and epicure can be used as synonyms, they have fallen out of favor and bring to mind a stodgy or snobbish attitude.
Foodies are considered a unique group of people who are genuinely interested in anything food, beer and wine related activities, such events that are perfect for foodies, i.e., Lakewood Food and Wine Festival, Wine tasting events, Food sampling events, Brew Festivals, fusion restaurants, food trends and fads, nutrition cooking classes, promoting unique food creation and fusion, enjoy food related shows, like Top Chef, Iron Chef and The Taste.
As a Foodie, I love, search and surround myself with unique culinary experiences whether for a night out, or cooking at home or on my travels. As a Foodie and an avid Traveler, merrying my two love allows my experiences to a much more rewarding experience and allows me to explore unique food, wines and beers throughout the world.
Foursquare and Yelp: I love using these applications as a lot of Foodies make recommendations, suggestions and share their opinions of the restaurants, bistro, breweries in the area.
